Famous Rejections

Here is what some publishers wrote back to author's seeking publication of their books...

The Deer Park, by Norman Mailer:
"This will set publishing back 25 years."

The Diary of Anne Frank:
"The girl doesn't, it seems to me, have a special preception or feeling which would lift that book above the 'curiosity' level."

Catch-22, by Joseph Heller:
"I haven't the foggiest idea as to what this man is trying to say..."
